YCS Student Work - Completed work drop-off and next 2-week learning packet pick-up:

Tuesday March 31st and Wednesday April 1st - 8:00-10:00 a.m. and 4:00-6:00 p.m.

You may also pickup band instruments, books, devices, and report cards.

The Yancey Public Library is ready to take information over the phone to give individuals virtual access to digital library resources.

They cannot create virtual cards through email or messaging service.

A parent or guardian must call their local library or the Regional Library Office to set up access for students.

If a student or parent has a card that is ‘blocked,’ meaning it has expired or has overdue items, call the library.

We can provide breakfast and lunch for all children age 18 and under.

Our distribution centers are:

Blue Ridge Elementary School (828-682-8150)

and East Yancey Middle School (828- 682-2281).

Please call if you have questions or need to be added to the list. If you have not completed the School Nutrition survey, please do so.

Learning packets, books and devices can be delivered on the buses if needed. Please call your your child's school if he/she needs more resources for educational needs.


This message is to let you know that next Tuesday March 31st and Wednesday, April 1s5, schools will be open from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for a drive by and pick up of the next two week round of student work.

Student reports cards will also be available for pick up next week. Schools may have devices, books, or band instruments that may be ready to be sent home with families.

Parents can also drop off packets of completed student work at that time. Please leave the papers at the school for your child’s teacher.

The Kindergarten and PreK Registration and Kickoff Events on April 2nd, as well as the middle school and high school transition events have been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.
