Bus Driver Training


Volleyball camp is next next week, July 28-30 from 9am to 12pm in the EY gym for 6th-8th graders. The cost is $40. Concessions will be available for purchase.

SOCCER OPEN fields will be Thursday July 17th 8-9:30am. Then Another Thursday July 31. 5:00-6:30.pm On EY soccer field
Tryouts will be on August 4th. Time will be announced.
You must have a current physical on file or bring it with you to participate. Also need to get Finalforms completed and registered for boys soccer.

Whitewater Center Trip:
This is Mr. Byland with a message is for those attending the trip tomorrow. Drop off will start at 7:30 at Mountain Heritage at the top parking lot/main entrance. The bus will leave at 8am. Parents will have to sign the waiver and the field trip permission form before they drop their student off. Students will need to be picked up at Mountain Heritage around 6pm.
Closed toe shoes are required for land activities. Students can wear flip flops or shoes good for the water, but they will need to bring a pair of tennis shoes as well. Appropriate clothing for the weather: sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and bathing suit. Students may bring a change of clothes to change into after the water portion of the day; students must wear something that can get wet. Students can bring a water bottle if desired (water fountains are available throughout the facility)
No one can be added to the trip at this time.

Week 3 of summer camp- we made geometrical stained glass, learned outdoor survival skills, made and flew paper airplanes, enjoyed some mindfulness stretching, and ended our week at Carowinds! We have had a fantastic 3 weeks of camp!!






On July 8th, East Yancey will be going to the National Whitewater Center in Charlotte. This trip will combine an educational program of team building with all available land and water-based activities in the park, such as rafting, flatwater kayaking, zip lining, ropes courses, jumps, and climbing. This is a free trip for all students.
Permission forms will have to be filled out by a guardian the morning of the trip. We plan to leave at 8am from Mountain Heritage (not EY). Our return time will vary depending on traffic, but we expect around 6pm.

Good evening, due to circumstances beyond our control, our athletic picnic will take place at EY. We will still have food and fun games. Students do need to wear clothing that can get wet, have sunscreen, and other summer items. Students may not wear bathing suits.

Field day is this Thursday, May 22nd. Below is information to help you prepare for the day.


MHHS Baseball will be having baseball camp June 5th and 6th from 9-12 for rising 6th-rising 9th graders. Cost is 40$ cash. Bring a water bottle. A small snack will be provided.
Registration will start at 8:30 June 5th.

Good evening, this is Mr. Byland with some updates for the week from East Yancey,
Monday, 8th graders will have Math 1 EOC testing and students will receive their year books and clean out lockers. Tuesday, we will have our awards ceremony for 6th and 7th graders starting at 8:30. Wednesday, we will have our athletic luncheon. Thursday, we will have our annual talent show, followed by field day. Make sure students dress for hot weather and have sunscreen. Friday, we will have our 8th grade recognition ceremony at 8:30.
Friday is a half day with dismissal at 12pm.
Parents are welcome to attend the awards ceremony, talent show, and graduation.
If you would like to volunteer to help out with field day, email Mr. Byland. Field day is weather dependent.
