Good evening, this is Mr. Byland with several announcements from East Yancey Middle School,
If you would like to sign up your child for summer school, please contact the front office. The dates are June 8-11 and June 15-18. As a reminder, 7th and 8th graders will have reproductive health class on Tuesday. If you want to opt your child out, simply return the form or call the school. There will be a chorus concert for all grades at 5pm on Tuesday and a band concert on Thursday at 6pm.

During February's Love the Bus Month, Transportation staff delivered cinnamon rolls to our bus drivers and monitors to show appreciation for the incredible job they do. There will be FREE SPORTS physicals at Mountain Heritage High School on Wednesday May 6th 3:00-5:00.
This will cover the students Sports physical requirements for the entire 26-27 school sports year.
We will bus students to the High School from East Yancey so they will be there by 3:00. We will have Physical forms available to pick up during PE now through May 5th. Parents will need to fill out the History Page of the forms and then send the papers back to school with your student.
The return of the HISTORY page will be used as the permission slip for your student to ride the bus to MHHS and as the agreement that someone will be picking them up at MHHS on May 6th. THERE IS NO BUS BRINGING STUDENTS BACK TO EAST YANCEY.

End of year testing will be the week of May 11th. If you are available to help us with testing, please call the school. We are in need of some testing proctors.
Our 8th graders are going to see the Outsiders at the high school on Thursday. This is a performance by the high school theater arts program.
