Good evening, this is Mr. Byland with a few announcements, This coming week, 7th grade will be going on a field trip on Monday and will need to be dropped off by 6:45 and picked up at 4pm. 8th grade will be doing so on Wednesday, with students being dropped off at EY by 6:45am and pick up somewhere between 9:00-10:00pm. Students will text or call when we start home. Students will take a very abbreviated assessment this week in math and ELA to discover any gaps in learning we may still need to cover before testing. School is a half day on Thursday and there is no school on Friday. Thanks and as always, GO PANTHERS!!

Good afternoon East Yancey Families, This is Mrs. Samantha Duncan your child's 6th grade math teacher. I am calling to let you know that I will be staying after school on Thursday, April 10th from 3:30-4:30 to provide after school math tutoring for those 6th graders that are interested. Please know your child will need to be picked up out front between 4:20 and 4:30. Transportation will not be provided. Again, this is for Thursday April 10th from 3:30 to 4:30. Good evening 8th grade parents, I am calling to let you know that our trip to Dollywood has been rescheduled from Friday to Wednesday of next week due to weather. As always, go panthers!

FREE PHYSICALS at Mountain Heritage High School. (All EY students should take advantage of this) May 7th 2:30 - 4:30 at MHHS . Start of the last exam is 4:30.

Good evening, this is Mrs. English with an important message for Band families, We will hold our Spring Concert on May 6th at 7:00pm in the Mountain Heritage HS Auditorium. Students are to report to MHHS no later than 6:15 that evening. Students have been given a letter to bring home to you detailing specific attire information and other details. If this has not found its way to you, please send me an email or call me at the school and I will have a form sent home for you. The bottom half of the sheet needs to be signed and returned to me as soon as possible. I am excited for you all to hear the work that your student has put in to make this event successful. I will also be sending home a letter later this week inquiring about an afterschool rehearsal for all students in band. This rehearsal will happen the week that we return from spring break. Good evening, this is Mr. Byland from East Yancey with a few announcements, On April 14th, all students will take part in the annual Youth Risk Behavior Survey. This survey helps us to better serve student's needs. There is an opt out form that your student should bring home tomorrow if you'd rather them not participate. The annual reproductive health class, focusing on abstinence, will be taught for 7th and 8th graders on April 16th. If you would rather your child not participate, there is an opt out form being sent home for this as well tomorrow. Thanks and as always, GO PANTHERS

Week at a Glance WAG March 31-April 4 Good evening, this is Mr. Byland from East Yancey with a few important announcements, Spring break will be April 18th-25th, with a half day on April 17th. The 8th grade dance will be on May 16th from 6-9pm. Tickets will be $5. End of grade testing will take place the week of May 12th. All students will need to be at school that week. The threat of wildfires is high due to dry conditions and increased fuel load on the forest floor. All residents and personnel are urged to comply with the Emergency Operations plan to ensure safety.
